Bishop McGuinness Coach To Speak At USA Basketball Academy

Brian Robinson, head women’s basketball coach at Bishop McGuinness High School, has also developed a national profile while working with USA Basketball.

Robinson is one of a select group of high school coaches—and the only women’s coach—who has been invited to speak at the USA Basketball Youth Coach Academy in Las Vegas on Wednesday and Thursday.

Robinson has been involved with USA Basketball since 2007. He was on the Youth Olympics Festival selection committee from 2009-12, served as an assistant coach for the U16 2013 National Team that won the gold medal in Cancun, Mexico, and then was an assistant coach last year for the U17 National Team that won the gold medal in the Czech Republic.

Among the activities the Bishop coach will be involved with in Las Vegas is a coaches clinic for all the middle school, high school and youth coaches who attend. In addition, he will be part of a panel discussion about the good aspects and challenges facing youth sports and youth sports coaches.
