FAYETTEVILLE—The Southeastern Athletic Officials Association recognized two veteran officials during its annual North Carolina High School Athletic Association football rules clinic at South View High School recently, according to the Fayetteville Observer.
Jeremy Hall received the Dick Knox Distinguished Service Award, which is given to recognize dedication and outstanding service to the SAOA. Knox is a former official and high school coach who for many years served as deputy executive director and supervisor of officials of the NCHSAA.
Retired official Bruce Stephens received the Donald P. Kitts Mentoring Award. This award is presented in memory of long-time official Don Kits and recognizes an official who has worked to his fellow officials and the officiating association at large.
Neil Buie serves as the regional supervisor for the Southeastern Athletic Officials Association.
