Swansboro Coach Doug Kidd Reaches Coaching Milestone

SWANSBORO—Veteran soccer coach Doug Kidd has reached a rare soccer coaching milestone, according to the Jacksonville Daily News.

The Swansboro soccer coach has now recorded 700 career victories, counting both his leading men’s and women’s varsity high school teams, in his 24 years of coaching.

He notched the milestone victory earlier this month when his Swansboro team blanked New Hanover 2-0 in an Endowment game to open the season.

Kidd has been coaching at Swansboro since 2008, after 17 years of guiding both the men’s and women’s programs at Watauga.  His Swansboro women’s team has won three North Carolina High School Athletic Association state championships.

Edward Radley and Corey Rickards each scored goals in the second half to lift the Pirates to the win.

Coach Kidd has also been involved with helping the NCHSAA stage its state soccer championships.

       Congratulations to Doug Kidd!
