            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association announced a partnership with Nationwide Mutual Insurance to promote smart teen driving through the Buckle-Up for a Successful Season campaign, in conjunction with the start of the fall sports seasons.

 

August 26, 2012

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, long-time Atlantic Coast Conference football official and conference administrator Bradley Faircloth died at the age of 82. Faircloth was inducted into the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2009. A native of Fayetteville, Faircloth grew up in Greensboro and graduated from Greensboro Senior High School and later Duke University.
