WEEK 35 | 2023-24 ORTHOCAROLINA PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK

­­­Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.  

The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week 35 of NCHSAA competition are Callee Perry from Bear Grass Charter and Elijah Cooley from Lejeune High School.

Perry, a sophomore on both the softball and track and field teams, had a triple, three home runs and nine RBIs in two games last week and then ran a 27.4 in the 200m to automatically qualify for the 1A East Regionals in the debut season for track and field at Bear Grass Charter. 

Cooley, a junior on the track team, won the 1A/2A Coastal Plains Track Athlete of the Year Award as he earned the most points after running the 800, 1600 and the anchor leg of both the 4×400 and 4×800 relays. He took first in the 800 and the 4×800 relay team also took the top spot.
