            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Charlotte Providence made it two consecutive North Carolina High School Athletic Association state women’s 4-A cross country championships and Asheville T.C. Roberson swept a pair of 3-A state crowns, both men and women, in action at Tanglewood Park.

 

November 6, 1998

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, East Surry rolled up an amazing 765 yards total offense in a high school football game, including 506 yards rushing and another 259 passing, but needed just about every yard, outlasting East Wilkes 52-38 in a shootout.
