            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, quarterback Connor Mitch of Raleigh Wakefield threw for a whopping 604 yards—the third time in his high school career he bettered the  600-yard mark—but it wasn’t enough as Wakefield fell to the powerful Trojans of Garner 76-34.

 

November 9, 2002

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, the Wachovia Cup champions for the 2001-02 academic year are honored at the 18th annual North Carolina High School Athletic Association Day at Kenan Stadium, during which North Carolina played Clemson. Durham School of the Arts, Charlotte Catholic, East Chapel Hill and Winston-Salem Mount Tabor received the Cups.

           On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Trevan Davis of Thomasville carried the football a whopping 50 times for 363 yards rushing in an exciting 29-28 victory over Albemarle.
