            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Jac Watkins of New Bern scored his fourth touchdown of the game with 26 seconds to go, capping a comeback as the Bears nipped Porter Ridge 39-38 in the NCHSAA 4-A state football championship game at Kenan Stadium.  Trailing 38-33, the Bears drove 80 yards in 15 plays in the final minutes to finish the season at 15-0.
