Performance of the Week | Powered by Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and Jersey Mike’s Subs

CHAPEL HILL— Bayley Plummer of East Davidson High School and Tyler Maye of Farmville Central High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week awards, powered by Time Warner Cable SportsChannel with Jersey Mike’s Subs®.

Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from media and school administrators.

Plummer, a power forward, scored 13 points and had 24 rebounds in Saturday’s 2A Women’s Regional Final win against R-S Central at Fleming Gymnasium on the campus of UNC-Greensboro. She holds the NCHSAA record for blocks in a single game with 21 and has 888 career blocks. Averaging 18.6 points, 16 rebounds and 8.2 blocks per game for the season, Plummer has signed with Appalachian State.

Maye, a junior point guard, had five rebounds and scored 25 points in the 72-57 Regional Final win over Northeastern High School in Saturday’s 2A Men’s Super Saturday play. He shot 3 for 6 from beyond the arc and has averaged 23.6 points per game for the 2015-16 season. Maye also was named the Maxpreps Player of the Game for his performance in Saturday’s game.

TWC SportsChannel typically announces the winners of the awards during its Tuesday night Sports Night show and will recognize the winners throughout the week. Weekly recipients will also be recognized via Twitter and Facebook.
