October 28, 1955

On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Jerry Capps of Clayton High School scored 10 touchdowns as his team rolled past Lillington 82-40 in a North Carolina High School Athletic Association six-man football game played at Campbell College in Buies Creek.

October 28, 1960

On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Hope Mills High School’s Donnie Davis accounted for 49 points on eight touchdowns and an extra point in a decisive 77-0 victory over Carthage. 

October 28, 2011

On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Akile Jones of Lejeune High School rushed for a state record 490 yards in 36 carries as he led Lejeune to a 47-30 victory over Dixon.  He scored six touchdowns, including two on runs of 76 and 81 yards, in the game at Lejeune.
