GREENSBORO—The Guilford County Board of Education has approved a proposal to name the Northwest Guilford High School soccer field in honor of a long-time teacher and coach at the school.

The soccer field at Northwest will be named for Bob Yow, a longtime coach of both men’s and women’s soccer as well as women’s basketball.

Yow, who passed away in May 2012, was a respected teacher and held several leadership positions at the school during a tenure of over 30 years at Northwest.

Northwest Guilford plans to hold a ceremony to dedicate the field on October 10, when Northwest hosts Ragsdale.
