ALEXANDER CENTRAL SOFTBALL COACHES RECOGNIZED

        TAYLORSVILLE—The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced that Alexander Central High School’s coaching staff has been named the South Region winner of the High School Coaching Staff of the Year award.

        The South is one of the five NFCA regions.

        Monte Sherrill is the head coach, assisted by Darrell Adkins, Josh Bumgarner, Terry Waugh, Randy Elder and Robby Wilkinson.

        Alexander Central posted a 33-1 slate and won the NCHSAA state 4-A softball championship in June.

        The coaching staff at Masuk High School in Connecticut, headed by Jaqueline Sheftz, was named the national winner of the coaching staff award.
