Media, an email went out to all on our email list letting you all know that the credential window for Year-Long NCHSAA Media Credentials is now open. Please read the note below concerning the process and timelines. Contact James Alverson (james@nchsaa.org) with any questions you may have concerning these credentials.
Again, this year the application process will be a two-step one. First, all media outlets will be required to submit the “Media Outlet Form” so that each outlet can be verified as a legitimate source of news and information, providing regular coverage of NCHSAA events and championships. Outlets requesting credentials that do not have their own website and only promote their stories, video and information through social media sites will not be granted credentials. The NCHSAA does not credential scouting services and any submission by scouting services will not be approved.
You can find the Media Outlet Form on the NCHSAA Website by clicking on the credentials link under the media tab on the home page. Once the Media Outlet Form has been submitted, NCHSAA staff will review the outlet’s credentials and either approve, deny or request more information from the outlet. This approval could take up to two weeks, though we strive to return the requests in a timelier manner. Once an outlet receives approval notification, they will be allowed to request individual credentials for each reporter, photographer or other news gatherer as needed.
Individual forms must be completed with a staff person’s name, title and a 2 x 2” photo of the individual. The photo must be a “headshot” from the shoulders up, and individuals should not be wearing hats or sunglasses in the photo. This photo is intended to be for identification purposes and should look similar in nature to the photo on your driver’s license or passport.
If you would like your credentials prior to the start of the 2018-19 season, please be sure to have them submitted by July 1. We are not able to produce these credentials in house, and they must be sent off for production, so we ask you to please work ahead and consider the timeline of when you will need the passes. The final deadline for the year is October 1 and no year-long passes will be granted after that time.
