Celebrating 100 Years: This Day In NCHSAA History

August 30, 1968

On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Wilson’s Fike High School opened defense of its North Carolina High School Athletic Association state football championship but was shut out by Winston-Salem R.J. Reynolds 9-0.  Fike rebounded, however,  under head coach Henry Trevathan and went on to win the ’68 crown.
