CHARLOTTE—Scott Taylor has been chosen as the new head men’s basketball coach at Providence High School, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Taylor, who is 30, comes to Providence after five years as an assistant coach on the Queens University basketball staff. A graduate of Florida State, Taylor also coached one year at Carson-Newman College.
The new Providence coach will teach health and physical education at the school. He will replace Myron Lowery, who resigned in June.
The newspaper reported that there were over 50 applicants for the position.
