Tod Morgan Leaving Chapel Hill For Charles B. Aycock

CHAPEL HILL—Tod Morgan, who has been the head men’s basketball coach and athletic director at Chapel Hill High School, has taken a position as head basketball coach at Charles B. Aycock High School in Pikeville.

Morgan has been head men’s coach for the Tigers for the past five seasons and has served Chapel Hill as athletic director for the past four years. His teams have posted three consecutive 20-victory seasons, recording records of 22-5, 26-2 and 24-5, and won three straight Carolina 3-A conference championships. Chapel Hill made it to the Eastern Regional finals in the 2010-11 campaign.

In addition, in each of his five years at Chapel Hill his basketball team met the requirements for the NCHSAA Scholar-Athlete team designation.

Both Morgan and his wife are from eastern North Carolina, with Morgan hailing from Morehead City and his wife Courtney from New Bern. Courtney is employed by the Craven County schools.

He is a 1991 graduate of the University of North Carolina.
