Patty Evers, the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at East Bladen High School, and Danny Anderson, the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Maiden High School, both picked up milestone wins in the last two weeks. Anderson won his 700th career game as a head coach last week while Evers secured victory number 500 earlier this week.
Anderson’s 700th win came against Lincolnton as his Blue Devils wrapped up a 59-45 home victory on January 22. Anderson is in his 36th season as a head coach, spending time at West Caldwell prior to coming to Maiden in 2015. The win brought him to 700-253, or a .733 winning percentage.
Evers saw her squad pick up her 500thwin spanning a 23-year career as a head coach. East Bladen ran away from Red Springs 54-20. The win pushed Evers’ record to 500-122 including her five years at Tar Heel before it was consolidated into East Bladen.
Congratulations to both coaches on joining a very exclusive number of coaches who have guided their teams to these tremendous number of victories.
