APEX—Middle Creek High School has named its new head baseball coach, according to various media reports including the Raleigh News and Observer.
Wesley King, who for the last four years has headed the baseball program at North Buncombe, has been named as the baseball coach to replace Jeremy Thompson, who gave up the coaching duties when he was named athletic director at the school.
Middle Creek won the NCHSAA state 4-A baseball championship in 2012 under Thompson, beating W.A. Hough in two straight games for the title.
According to the report, North Buncombe was 22-4 last year and King posted a record of 76-36 during his tenure there.
