Nail Will Be Reagan Baseball Coach

PFAFFTOWN—Reagan High School has named Gary Nail as its head baseball coach, removing the interim coach title, according to a report in the Winston-Salem Journal.

Nail, who was a non-faculty coach last season while serving as the interim head coach, was an assistant coach to Jamie Mabe at Reagan during the 2012 campaign.  Mabe resigned after the 2012 season.

Reagan posted a 17-11 record during the 2013 season and made it to the third round of the NCHSAA 4-A playoffs.  The team was very competitive and actually lost seven games in the last inning and had only three seniors on the roster.

Nail guided three consecutive South Stokes teams to state championships at the 1-A level from 2002 to ’04.

The Reagan coach is currently a physical education teacher at King Elementary School and has accepted a position as a teacher at Reagan.
