2021-2022 WEEK 9 | Performance of the Week, Powered by OrthoCarolina

CHAPEL HILL— Sydney Spear from Holmes High School and Kanye Roberts from Wallace-Rose Hill High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators. 

Spear, a Senior on the Holmes Tennis team, captured her third consecutive conference singles tournament championship while also being named Conference Player of the Year for the third straight year.  Her stellar play this year led Holmes to a Northeastern Coastal Conference regular season title.

Roberts, a Senior on the Wallace-Rose Hill Football team, rushed for 7 touchdowns and added a receiving touchdown on Friday night against Kinston. His 7 rushing touchdowns are tied for 5th most in a single game, and his 8 total touchdowns are tied for 2nd most in a single game in NCHSAA history.

Weekly recipients will be recognized on the NCHSAA Website and social media pages.  The deadline for nominations is each Monday at 5 p.m through the online form that can be found here.
