2021-2022 WEEK 12 | Performance of the Week, Powered by OrthoCarolina

CHAPEL HILL— Sarah Mitchell from Apex High School and Cooper King from Hendersonville High School have been named recipients of the NCHSAA Performance of the Week award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators. 

Mitchell, a Senior on the Apex Cross Country team, won the 4A Cross Country State Championship on Saturday.  Her time of 17:26.96 broke the 4A Women’s Course Record at Ivey Redmon Complex.

King, a Junior on the Hendersonville Soccer team, scored four goals in the Bearcats’ 2A Soccer playoff match last week.  He also assisted on two goals as Hendersonville took down East Gaston 9-0.

Weekly recipients will be recognized on the NCHSAA Website and social media pages.  The deadline for nominations is each Monday at 5 p.m through the online form that can be found here.
