STATESVILLE—West Iredell High School has named its new head football coach, according to various media reports including the Statesville Record and Landmark.

Mike Natoli has been named the new head man at West Iredell, taking over for Mark Weycker, who resigned in March after 26 years of leading the West football program. According to reports, Natoli is just the fourth head football coach at West Iredell since the program began in 1974.

Natoli comes to West Iredell after three years as the head coach at Richlands in Onslow County. Prior to that, he had been an assistant coach at Newton-Conover High School from 2004 through 2009. He was offensive coordinator for the Red Devils when they won the 2008 NCHSAA state 2-A championship.
