Owens To Step Down At Middle Creek

Lewis Owens will step down as athletic director at Middle Creek High School in Wake County at the end of this academic year, according to The Raleigh News and Observer.

Owens has been at Middle Creek for 10 years and served as athletic director there for seven. He has 28 years of experience as a coach and administrator.

A native of Durham, he played football at Wake Forest University and has also had coaching stints at Garner and Durham Hillside.

Middle Creek opened in the fall of 2001, and Owens is the third person to serve in the capacity as Middle Creek athletic director. Dean Manges and Mike Matthews are the other two Middle Creek AD’s.
