NORTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TEAMS INVOLVED IN DIG PINK FUNDRAISING
In 2012, North Carolina high school volleyball teams were ranked #15 in the country for their Dig Pink® fundraising, according to The Side-Out Foundation.
They raised a total of $18,344 for the non-profit organization that raises money for breast cancer research through the sport of volleyball. When student athletes share their limited free time with others in order to make a difference in the lives of those around them, it is not only impressive, it is inspiring.
Top North Carolina fundraising teams in 2012 among NCHSAA schools include:
West Carteret High School — $5,000.00
North Henderson High School — $3,060.31
South Central High School — $2,500.00
Northside High School — $1,601.83
Jordan-Matthews High School — $1,171.00
Eastern Guilford High School — $1,077.79
Middle schools, high schools and colleges nationwide raised a total of over $1.1 million for Side-Out’s Dig Pink initiatives in 2012 (and the funds continue to come in)! In addition, ten students were recognized with scholarship and/or community service awards through the Side-Out Ambassador Program
Thanks to NCHSAA member schools for fostering an environment where players are encouraged to build both physical strength and strength of character.
