Athletic Director At Freedom Retiring

MORGANTON— Joey Davis is retiring as the athletic director at Freedom High School, according to a report in the Morganton News-Herald.

Davis has been the athletic director at Freedom for four years and has spent 25 years at the school, in addition to serving at Watauga and Clyde Erwin in Buncombe County.

Davis is a 1979 graduate of A.C. Reynolds High in Asheville and graduated from Appalachian State in 1983. He served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Freedom under Terry Rogers and then was the head coach for eight years. He also coached golf at Freedom for 16 seasons.
