NEWTON—The Observer-News-Enterprise has reported that Billy Leeson, athletic director at Newton-Conover High School, is leaving the school and that position.

Leeson, who was named to the post at Newton-Conover a little over a year ago, will take a job at a middle school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg system.

Leeson had formerly worked at Vance High School in Charlotte and had 11 years of experience in that school system.
