Bartlett Yancey Had Successful Spring Community Service Event

YANCEYVILLE–  Many North Carolina High School Athletic Association schools do a great job with community service and are deeply involved with activities beyond the court or field in their respective areas.

Bartlett Yancey High School is a good example, and the school used a coordinated effort among several spring sports teams for the Bartlett Yancey Charity Night during the spring.

The Bartlett Yancey baseball, softball and women’s soccer teams worked together to dedicate one night of their season to raise money for a charity. Through the efforts of those three teams, their coaches and their fans, the teams were able to raise significant funds.

Games were played on a single night at the Bartlett Yancey athletic complex and were publicized throughout the community, resulting in $1,642 being raised and donated to the Hospice of Alamance-Caswell.

Eric Phelps was the head coach of the varsity baseball team, Kelly McVey for the softball program and Lynn Massey for women’s soccer.

Our congratulations to Bartlett Yancey, coaches and athletes for their efforts to benefit a worthy cause and help in the community!
