GREENSBORO— Northern Guilford High School has named Bill Chambers as its new men’s basketball coach, according to reports in the Greensboro News and Record.

Chambers, a former University of North Carolina basketball player under Dean Smith, has coached at Kernodle Middle School in Guilford County since 2000. He has had previously collegiate coaching stints which included North Carolina Wesleyan and Greensboro College.

Chambers graduated from North Carolina in 1976 and played professionally in Europe for several years. He will replace Ryan Freeman, who coached the Nighthawks for three years.
