Blue Cross NC Partnership Announcement

Blue Cross NC and the NCHSAA Extend Partnership to Celebrate High School Women’s Athletics

Blue Cross NC will continue to serve as the official health insurance partner of the NCHSAA

CHAPEL HILL, N.C(www.nchsaa.org) – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) is proud to announce a two-year partnership extension with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC).

Blue Cross NC will continue to be recognized as the official health insurance partner of the NCHSAA and the presenting sponsor of two new year-long campaigns to celebrate women’s athletics in the NCHSAA.

Throughout the 2022-2023 academic year, the NCHSAA and Blue Cross NC will honor a Women’s Team of the Month. One team will be selected and recognized monthly for their accomplishments on the field and for their positive impact on their local community.

The NCHSAA and Blue Cross NC will also sponsor a new spotlight series honoring women that have made a significant impact on the NCHSAA and the growth of high school women’s athletics in North Carolina. Blue Cross NC will also have an integrated presence at NCHSAA Women’s Championships.

“Blue Cross NC has been a great teammate!”, said Que Tucker, Commissioner of the NCHSAA. “It is especially gratifying to work together to showcase women’s athletics at the high school level. This continued celebration highlighting women’s athletics, allows us to support healthy communities throughout the 100 counties in our state.”

Blue Cross NC and Healthy Blue, Blue Cross NC’s Medicaid managed care plan, are hitting the road again for a hometown spirit tour. Throughout the tour, Blue Cross NC will visit fourteen member schools to highlight gender equity in sports. At some of the state's most anticipated high school football and basketball matchups, Blue Cross NC and Healthy Blue will be interacting with fans to promote community pride and hometown rivalry traditions. In addition, Blue Cross NC will also be presenting a $1,000 donation to the athletic programs of each visited school to further support women’s athletics in the NCHSAA.

"Our collaboration with NCHSAA allows us to celebrate local communities across all 100 counties of our state,” said Reagan Greene, Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement at Blue Cross NC. “By strengthening our commitment to women in sports, we’re giving more North Carolinians the opportunity to be healthy.”
