CLAREMONT—Randy Joines has been named as the new head softball coach at Bunker Hill High School, according to a release from the school.

        Joines has assisted with the Bunker Hill program for the past two seasons and previously had served as head coach at North Wilkes.

        “Coach Joines is one of the most dedicated, hard working, and professional coaches I’ve been around,” said Lee Miller, athletic director at Bunker Hill.  “We look forward to seeing our softball program grow to new heights under his leadership.”

Sophie (Petie) Wagner will assist Joines with the softball program. Wagner played collegiately at Appalachian State University and is a former head coach who left the program after starting a family.

“We are pleased that she has chosen to return and are fortunate to have her knowledge and experience to add to the program,” said Miller.
