Charlotte Catholic Star Earns Place In NCHSAA Records

CHARLOTTE— Charlotte Catholic High School women’s soccer star Jane Cline has earned a place in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state record book.

Cline, who led her team into the regional championship round in the NCHSAA state 3-A playoffs, finished the season with a whopping 75 goals, the second best mark all-time. It is just one behind Sarah Winslow of Wilson Fike, who achieved her record back in 2006.

There are five players who have scored at least 70 goals in a single season.

Cline also finished her Charlotte Catholic career with 181 goals, good for seventh place in the career scoring list.

Carolyn Lindsay of South View holds the career mark with 217 goals.

Congratulations to Jane Cline and our thanks to the Charlotte Observer for documenting the achievement.
