COMMISSIONER SPEAKS AT ATHLETIC DIRECTORS’ BREAKFAST
GREENSBORO — North Carolina High School Athletic Association commissioner Davis Whitfield addressed a large group of the state’s high school athletic directors on Tuesday morning, one of the events held as part of the week’s activities with the North Carolina Coaches Association.
The breakfast is sponsored by the North Carolina Athletic Directors Association but is held as part of the coaches’ association activities. In addition, NCHSAA staff members make presentations at the breakfast and at rule clinics throughout the week at the Greensboro Coliseum complex. It all points to the remarkable cooperation in the state among the coaches’ association, the athletic directors’ association and the NCHSAA.
Representatives of both the NCCA and the NCADA also hold ex-officio sports on the NCHSAA Board of Directors.
Whitfield described some of the issues and challenges facing high school athletics in the state as well as highlighting some of the major changes coming in policy and procedures for the NCHSAA.
