DAVIDSON—Tony Brown, head men’s basketball coach at Community School of Davidson, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday.

He was 53 years old.

The Charlotte Observer first reported the news and then the Charlotte Storm AAU program, with which Brown was affiliated, also posted a brief memorial.

Brown was originally from the Bronx, New York, and graduated from Syracuse University.

The Community School of Davidson is a 1-A member school of the NCHSAA.
