Q: At our school we have a student who turned 19 on August 1 of this year and we want to apply for a hardship for her to be able to participate in the spring. How does the hardship procedure work in this situation?

A: There is no hardship waiver available for the age rule. Certain other rules may be set aside through the hardship procedure, but the NCHSAA is not even allowed to hear an age case.
