On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Kristina Argiroff’s goal proved to be the difference as First Flight downed East Bend Forbush 2-1 in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s women’s 2-A soccer championship at Paul Derr Stadium at N.C. State. First Flight, a school in its fourth year of operation, won its initial NCHSAA women’s soccer crown and finished with a 22-2 record.
