This Day In NCHSAA History

May 3, 2007

On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Gabby Mayo of Southeast Raleigh and Dee Bost of Concord received the Pat Best Memorial Awards as the NCHSAA Athletes of the Year for the 2006-07 academic year. Mayo was a star on the national stage in track and has put her name in the record books in both indoor and outdoor  track, winning four different events in the NCHSAA outdoor championships. Bost pulled off an unprecedented feat, winning the state 3-A championship Most Valuable Player award in both football and basketball, leading Concord to state titles in both sports.
