On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Fayetteville Seventy-First’s Alex Gaines booted his third game-winning kick in five playoff games by drilling a 19-yarder in the 3-0 win over West Charlotte in the 4-A NCHSAA football championship in Fayetteville.
