On this day in history in the NCHSAA, former North Carolina High School Athletic Association executive director Simon Terrell passed away in Chapel Hill. He was an outstanding coach at Cary High School and worked at the NCHSAA from 1959 to 1984, including 17 years as executive director. He is a member of the NCHSAA Hall of Fame.
