March 16, 1995

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, New Hanover’s Shawn Gallagher had another banner day by blasting four home runs in a 14-3 win over Jordan. Earlier in the season, Gallagher had five home runs in a single game and he would finish the 1995 season with 19 long balls.

 

March 16, 2013

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Isaiah Hicks scored 34 points and grabbed a whopping 30 rebounds to earn the Charlie Adams Most Valuable Player award as he led Oxford Webb to a 73-70 overtime win over Statesville.  The Warriors won the state 3-A men’s basketball title at Reynolds Coliseum.
