            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, East Burke High School softball senior standout Taylor Burkhalter earned her way into the North Carolina High School Record Book. Burkhalter had 16 consecutive hits over a five-game span before her streak was snapped with a fielder's choice in a game against West Caldwell. Burkhalter had 11 singles and 5 doubles in her hitting spree.
