This Day In NCHSAA History

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Megan Zullo of Farmville Central and Kendric Burney of Southwest Onslow received the Pat Best Memorial Award as the NCHSAA Athletes of the Year for the 2005-06 academic year. Zullo was a three-sport star at Farmville, in volleyball, basketball and track, and scored 2,326 points during her basketball career. Burney was a three-sport rarity who excelled at football, basketball and baseball, starting for four years in all three sports.  In football, he was the Most Valuable Player in the 2004 state championship 2-A game
