            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame member Herb Young died at the age of 84. Young was an outstanding game official for many years and was also very active in civic affairs in Cary, serving on the town council. A community center in Cary was named in his honor, and he joined the NCHSAA Hall of Fame in the class of 2001.
