            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Board of Control voted to name the office building for the organization in Chapel Hill in honor of executive director Simon Terrell.

            On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Southern Durham rallied in a  game that featured five lead changes to down Crest 38-31 for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 3-AA football championship at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem. Kendall Hinton threw an 80-yard scoring pass to Jordan Brown with 56 seconds to go for the game-winner. Hinton was 17 of 25 through the air for 332 yards and four scores.
