FOXX EARNS 650TH VICTORY IN VOLLEYBALL
Pinecrest head volleyball coach Barbara Foxx collected her 650th NCHSAA victory recently at Bob Ward Gymnasium in Cameron, according to the Southern Pines Piloty.
Her Pinecrest Patriots defeated Union Pines in straight sets, by 25-5, 25-11 and 25-22 in a nonconference match against a county rival. Pinecrest improved to 14-1 on the season.
Foxx, in her 35th year as the head volleyball coach at Pinecrest, is among North Carolina’s most successful volleyball coaches. She is currently the third-winningest volleyball coach in the state, behind a pair of outstanding retired coaches, Kathy Stefanou of Millbrook (657 wins) and Jan Stanley of West Henderson (698).
