Fuquay-varina Football Coach Headed To Watauga

FUQUAY-VARINA—Fuquay-Varina High School head football coach Ryan Habich has announced that he is resigning from Fuquay-Varina to take the head coaching job at Watauga, according to media reports including HighSchoolOT.com.

Habich noted that he had played football at Mars Hill College and his wife’s family is in the western part of the state, citing a desire to move into that area.

Habich rolled up an excellent 50-14 mark at the Fuquay-Varina helm in five seasons, taking over in 2008 when David Riggs retired. That included three seasons of 11 victories.

Last year the Bengals were 7-5 overall.
