LENOIR— West Caldwell High School’s athletic department has announced that Scott Greene will be the volleyball coach starting with the 2012 season. Coach Greene replaces Richard Hatley who stepped down at the end of the 2011 season.

This will be Coach Greene’s second stint as the head coach of the volleyball program. He was the coach from 2001-2007 and had an overall record of 91-71 (71-46 in conference).  In each of Coach Greene’s seven seasons as head coach, his teams qualified for the state playoffs.  His 2003 team won the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference 2A tournament championship.

Coach Greene is currently a math teacher and department chair at West Caldwell.

West Caldwell principal Jeff Link noted, ” We are delighted that Coach Greene has decided to return as the volleyball coach at West Caldwell.  The program had much success during his first tenure as coach and we look forward to him working again with our student-athletes.  Coach Greene is very professional in his approach to teaching and coaching and I am sure he will work hard to make the volleyball program at West Caldwell a success.”
