Hendersonville’s Cleary Earns Spot In Record Book

HENDERSONVILLE—Cole Cleary of Hendersonville High School completed an outstanding senior football season in 2014 and earned a spot in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state record book.

Cleary caught 75 passes on the year for 1,818 yards, and the receiving yardage total is the third best documented for an NCHSAA receiver.

Mohamed Massaquoi of Charlotte Independence hauled in passes good for 1,834 yards during the 2004 campaign, which is the state record in that category. Massaquoi went on to star at the University of Georgia and then went to the National Football League’s Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2009 draft.

Cleary has committed to continue his football career at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.

     Congratulations to Cole Cleary!
