WILMINGTON — John Teller of Wilmington’s Hoggard High School has received a significant coaching honor.
Teller has been named the National Soccer Coaches Association Coach of the Year for Region IV, which encompasses Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and Florida.
Teller led his Hoggard women’s team to its first trip ever to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state championship match last spring as the Vikings lost to North Mecklenburg on penalty kicks. Hoggard wound up the season 25-1 overall. Teller also coaches the Hoggard’s men’s team.
Congratulations to Coach Teller!
