JACKSONVILLE—A former coach at White Oak High School is returning to the post she held nine years ago.
Debbie Lausterer is the new women’s basketball coach at White Oak, according to a report in the Jacksonville Daily News.
A 25-year member of the faculty at White Oak, as a health/physical education, AVID and weight training teacher, Lausterer led the White Oak women’s basketball program from 1990 to 2006, winning several conference championships and advancing to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association regional tournament in 1999.
The program has been struggling lately, however, with the Vikings posting a 2-19 record in the 2013-14 season and then going 0-25 last year.
