Lejeune Head Football Coach Steps Down

         LEJEUNE—Darryl Schwartz, a veteran teacher and coach, has stepped down as head football coach at Lejeune High School, according to a report in the Jacksonville Daily News.

         Schwartz, who is 59, has been coaching for 38 years and has served as head coach at Lejeune for five seasons.  He has also coached wrestling as well as track and field and has even done some coaching in Germany.

         According to the newspaper, Schwartz plans to remain as a physical education teacher at the school until he is eligible for full retirement in a couple of years.
